How To Get Your Home Ready For Autumn

7 Tips to get Autumn ready

It is early September and we have already begun to slow down for Autumn and think all things snuggly and cosy. Have you?

Creating a home that is both comfortable and inviting for the colder months is something we look forward to every year.

The crisp Autumn air and the beautiful colours of Autumn go hand in hand with chunky knits, hot drinks and of course candles.

Here are our favourite suggestions to get your home Autumn ready:

1. Set the atmosphere with candles

Candles create the perfect cosy setting for a relaxing night in and there's an array of scents to choose from at Nuhr Home. Whether introducing diffusers or scented candles, scents with  woody or spiced notes offer the ideal fragrance updates for autumn. Try this customer favourite:

2. Cushions and throws

There's nothing better than curling up under a throw when the weather is cold. I tend to keep warm coloured, textured throws tucked away until the colder months and take them out come October. These are some that we love.

3. Introduce natural accents

Replacing summer flowers with dried flowers or pine cones and conkers collected from family days out instantly gives the home an Autumn feel.

4. Get started on the hot drinks

The sooner the better. I don't think you need to wait until it is toe curlingly cold to allow yourself a a spiced hot drink or a hot chocolate!

5. Use an oud diffuser

If you want the scent of oud to linger in your home for weeks or even months, an oud diffuser is the way to go. Plus, they look pretty sitting out on a shelf or table.

6. Give your home a good deep clean.

This will help you get rid of any dust and pollen that has accumulated over the summer months.

7. Seal your windows and doors

Take a look at your windows and doors. Make sure that they are well sealed and that there are no gaps around them. This will help keep warm air in and cold air out.

Finally, take some time to enjoy the autumn season!
